J. Press presented the inaugural broadcast. Can you even imagine? It was amazing to be in the J. Press store in Manhattan, watching and recording Richard Press hold court and none other in our genre can. You can listen to the show here. I broke the show up into two parts, next part to launch next Monday and then the show will launch on Mondays thereafter. Part 1 is my interview with Richard, Part 2 is his Q&A with the audience.

Mr. Burton, I just heard the show and it is first rate. You are doing a fantastic job of maintaining the cultural relevance of the fashion and you are a wonderful host. Mr. Press is an archive and just the timber of his voice beckons the Ivy look. You should be proud of this effort and I cannot wait for part two.
Thank you. I love doing this kind of thing. And Richard Press is the Ultimate Get. I may have peaked too early but I really appreciate your kind words.
Looking forward to this. I’m guessing Laura did NOT snap that last photo though ;-). Great to see everyone having such a good time!
You make, ahem, an extraordinarily good point.
Stay the course. Styles endure while fashion comes and goes.
Btw, the reason the grey Harris became so popular: chalk dust. Try teaching at a chalk-board while wearing navy flannel for example.
Richard mentions the old 16 oz tweed vs the newer 8 oz. I would argue to split the difference. 12-14 oz. would be the sweet spot on cooler days, late autumn into early spring.
Addendum:
This means I need about three times as many new sport coats and blazers, in various weights, as previously thought. Right?
Thanks for the Jerry Haber question. He sold me a few suits long ago and he was a real pro.
Thanks for sharing the wonderful pics! True ivy.

Hi – show has been listened to over tens of thousands of times today, what happens when you click on the link?
Absolutely nothing happens, John.
I guess that me and Sandy are the only teo people in the universe denied this privilege.
teo = two.
Sorry
Hi John,
Unfortunately, nothing at all happens when I click on the link.
I couldn’t get the link to work but congrats on the launch! Looking forward to listening later.
Mr. Press, respectfully, it’s L Street in Washington, DC. Avenue L is in Brooklyn. I’ve been shopping at the store since it opened in the late ‘80s.
John loved part one can’t wait for part two
Like Old Bostonian, the link didn’t work for me, but the one below did. Other readers who have experienced the same difficulty, might like to try it:
