Heyday Harvard

While researching the Harvard dorm rooms post for Masculine Interiors last week, I came across some student shots from the late ’40s up to 1960 or so. Note filthy sneakers in top image. — CC

  1. And that tobacconist’s shop is still there today and remains as the only tenant that store ever had in its history.

  2. What happened to those days?

  3. The tobacconist’s shop is Leavitt & Peirce. The students are likely oarsmen checking for the day’s practice schedules and boatings. The store was kind enough to allow it’s windows to be used for this purpose well into the early 2000s, when Tradition gave way to email.

  4. *its. Pardon the typo.

  5. RCN,
It all went wrong beginning in 1963….

  7. This was before the Commies took over.
