On Thursday evening writer-director Whit Stillman, auteur of the Preppydämmerung film “Metropolitan,” will host a screening at “online movie theater” Constellation.tv.
Through online chat the fillmmaker will answer viewer questions and will also present the trailer from his upcoming movie “Damsels In Distress.”
The viewing costs $3.99 and the Wall Street Journal has this handy write-up of what Constellation online screenings are like. See you in the back row. — CC
Fine movie, good man.
Interesting idea. Probably not new, but I have never heard of an online screening.
Why not link to the IMDB page for this new film?

yes great film! very brilliant dialogues. I’m not sure about charging $3.99 to viewers… what about selling three abut adverts at the beginning of the film to make it free. just an idea ….
I’m a big fan of Mr. Stillman’s work, but I’m not too excited about Damsels from the IMDB clips. Hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
” Preppydämmerung “. hahahaha!
@Shawn> I am very excited about Damsels, and I hope you give it a try when it comes out (at least on video). I’ve read that Stillman had complete control over Damsels, so I have hope that it will avoid the various shortcomings of The Last Days of Disco. And even LDOD had its great moments, like when Sevigny’s character realizes how awful her living options are going to be in NYC, even with her parents helping pay her way. Anyway, sounds like you are going to give Damsels a shot and I hope you like it!
Thanks for the heads up. This and the new Wes Anderson movie give me some hope that 2012 will be a turn around year for American movies. One can always hope.
