The Perfect Gift for the Ivy Style Woman

By Matthew Longcore

There is nothing quite like the beauty of a handcrafted, one of a kind item. My talented wife, an artist with a home based studio, has run her own business for the past five years. We live near the New England coast and spend a lot of time walking the beaches of Connecticut and Rhode Island. Blue Door Vibes has become her labor of love.

This post is admittedly a little different. Not the usual focus on traditional menswear. But I will say this – the Ivy Style women I know have good taste and like pretty things. So if you are looking for the perfect gift for a woman in your life, here you go.

Blue Door Vibes as seen in the Fresh Finds section of QUEST March 2025

Congratulations to Blue Door Vibes on being featured in the QUEST Spring Fashion Issue.

QUEST is an American lifestyle magazine which covers society from Greenwich to Palm Beach. The March issue features “the GOAT of all fashion designers” himself, Ralph Lauren—as well as best dressed ladies and gents at recent Palm Beach soirées.

Blue Door Vibes coastal creations include decoupage seashells, driftwood sailboats, and other home décor items.

Clam shells have been carefully selected from beachcombing adventures in Newport. Oyster shells are handpicked from the beaches of Connecticut.

Blue Door Vibes can be found at Splash of Pink, a Lilly Pulitzer store in Westport and New Canaan, Lattice House in  Southport, Darien Sport Shop in Darien, Piper and Dune in Southbury, Sincerely Eileen in Newport, and other fine shops.

Custom designs – including personalized monograms, holiday ornaments, hostess gifts, and wedding guest favors – are available.

I see one on my Wife’s dresser. It was a gift from my sister in CT. Very nice.

Very nice. I saw similar painted and gilded oyster shells in a shop in Charleston, and bought one as a gift that was much appreciated by the recipient.

  7. I noticed something on here about Blue Door Vibes when you first took over the site. The beautifully-crafted wares that your wife makes are high on the list of gifts I have in mind for my partner, who loves beaches and the sea.

  8. I wonder if there is some trick photography going on. On the cover photo, Samantha Angelo looks like she’s 6’6”.
