RL Madras Penny Loafers

Summer is winding to a close, which means if you bought a pair of these shoes in 2011, it will soon be time to put them away.

Ah the halcyon days of Neo-Prep excess! May that gaudy sun rise again one day.

I will admit that they look comfortable, if perhaps a bit slippery!

  2. It’ll be easy to tell when the prep trend is fading. Count the people with plaid/madras shorts this summer. People you wouldn’t expect to wear patchwork madras shorts were wearing them, and only because Old Navy was selling them.

  3. @David…

if that’s a trend, it’s been “trending” for quite some time.
I’ve only been in an Old Navy a few times, but I recall them selling patchwork madras shorts a couple years ago, at least.

For 400 bones RL ought to at least include an actual penny. Or a $20 gold piece. Or a rolled-up Jackson filled with blow.

  6. lets take a rest from re-hashing the clothes and start bringin back the preppy dances- who still gators around here?? and the vocal inflections— lockjaw anyone?

  7. Have a pair myself-minus the blow.

  8. Do you know when can I get an 8-1/2 size. Polo doesn’t have it any more.

Zambonesman, the last time I gatored, some drunk girl fell on me. . . . .

For 400 bones RL ought to at least get the pattern in alignment. That just looks sloppy to me, like a ‘bargain’ knockoff.

  11. Cool. I thought about getting a pair like this, but decided they are over the top for my wardrobe.

  12. “Has science gone too far?”
