As a blizzard whips through our national’s capital today, one preppy policeman is taking duty into his own hands — and putting his feet inside classic LL Bean rubber boots.
We’ve previously profiled the same Washington, DC police officer in a post entitled, “Fashion Police: Ivy Style Reader Is A Top Cop.” And today the officer posted this pic on Ivy’s Facebook page with the following explanation:
Well, they wanted to put me in a foot beat during this snow storm. I told my sergeant “If I’m walking in this, my feet are staying warm and dry. I’ll take the hit for the uniform violation.” He told me to do what I had to do. Haha.
No idea if he planned to add a schoolboy scarf. Does the academy have one? — CC
Update: Full body shot removed as badge number might catch the attention of Internal Affairs.
As a proud D.C. resident I will make sure to provide this man a warm beverage if I encounter him. Well done, sir!
Aye. Bean boots are a wardrobe staple.
As for police uniform… it appears Danner has a line of boots called “Law Enforcement” as well as “Military” that cost substantially more than Bean boots.
Hear, hear, Gazza79! I’m a proud D.C. resident as well.
Maybe Bean should make some navy or black boots for these fine folks.
And…the Bean boot post was great. I put in an order for the kids for Christmas.
