Cocktails & Laughter: Richard Press Event At J. Press 1/24; Space Limited, Reserve Now

Richard Press will be giving a talk at J. Press’ New York store next Wednesday evening. Listen to the great raconteur spin tales about the Ivy heyday, imbibe a drink, and mix with your fellow trads. I’ll be there with copies of my new mini-book “The Disengage,” for those unfortunate souls who don’t have one yet.

Space is limited, so reserve your spot now by emailing  rsvp@paulandwilliams.com. — CC

    Looking forward to it!

  2. Would a live-stream be feasible?

If a live-stream isn’t feasible, could the event be filmed/recorded?

So sorry that I will not be able to attend. Like other have suggested, I hope that this will be recorded to view on the web. Should be a great evening.

It would be great to see some footage showing Mr. Press speaking.

I live in Boston, but can’t make it to NYC, unfortunately.

  6. Allow me to express my appreciation of the typography on the invitation at the top. Brings back memories.

  7. @ Boston Bean: Invite by J.PRESS visuals director Andrew Schoomaker inspired by catalogues of yore…look for more of this inspiration when spring creeps near!

I would like to apologize for not being able to attend.
    I would love though…
@DCG: Dan, please give my regards to Richard Press and to Christian
Such a pity that Paris is so far away……..

  9. The stories and anecdotes are forever welcome and appreciated, but, as someone who still buys and wears the good stuff, I would want to ask a few “technical” questions. If a more details description of Reefer Twill could be offered (so I can ask Fox Brothers & Co. to replicate, as they do 5 meter short runs), that would be great. Think of it as the trad version of nerding out: why Elliot’s Irish Poplin was superior (or was it?) to Atkinson’s; the differences between the manufacturers of old: Linett, Gordon-Ford (Gordon of Philadelphia), Hertling. And so on.

  10. If I were by the NYC area, I would be there in a heartbeat! Enjoy tonight everyone, can’t wait to see a write-up!

Christian, Daniel and others who were there — Any report on the Richard Press event last night? I know those of us who couldn’t attend would love to see pix, and video if such a thing exists. I am eagerly looking forward to a post.
