This year, Andover turns 75. To celebrate, we are starting an initiative over at the FB group. 22 pieces, one featured a day. Some of these are anniversary pieces to commemorate.
Date yet to be announced but I will be attending their 75th anniversary and doing an Ivy-Style podcast with Constantine Valhouli. You want to google him if you don’t know.
Very much looking forward.
Here’s the first piece, just fyi.
That’s the Travel Blazer. It is the Ivy Utility Player. Goes with everything, has a weird way of avoiding wrinkles. Perfectly tailored. One each day for 22 days on the FB Group.
“Constantine is Director of Research for NeighborhoodX, a real estate research and analytics firm focused on adding transparency to data at the neighborhood level. The firm’s mission is enabling buyers, sellers, developers, and investors to make more informed decisions.”
?
Same Chris as above?
Okay so I googled Constantine Valhouli and I am even more confused now because he seems to be someone who works in real estate research and analytics in Sweden? Not sure what that has to do with the Andover shop though I suppose all will be explained in the podcast.
He is also a fashion writer who has written a book on the history of Andover 🙂
I have bought all my clothes from the Andover Shop since 1959 when I was sent away to boarding school in MA. at the 22 Holyoke location. Charlie Davidson was my mentor. I am now 78 and still buying all my clothes there. Charlie had a great eye for style and clothes along with how clothes should fit. Even after I retired Charlie would call me just to talk. I miss his advice and his great sense of humor. I have some wonderful stories about Charlie and the shop. Can’t wait to hear the podcast.
I am Charlie’s daughter and would love to talk with you about your memories of him.
I am beyond pleased to see you on the site! Would love to get your conversation with Malcolm as an interview. Email me at JohnBurton@Ivy-StyleMediaGroup.com if you are interested?
that is one expensive blazer
Pocket Square
I have had one for 2 yrs and it is worth the money . I always wear a blazer when traveling and this one never wrinkles. Took it recently to Europe and it lived up to it’s reputation .
Hard to go wrong with either a navy sports jacket, or blazer. My go to travel, conference, presentation, and personal appointment/meeting garment.
Kind Regards,
H-U
When is their 75th anniversary party? And will it be in Cambridge or Andover?
Thanks.
Will be announcing shortly!
Ordered wonderful alpaca sweaters form them. in the past On a recent rtip to Cambridge ( from CA)
I was measured for a sport coat, which should be arriving soon.. I wish we had a store Can’t wait. Their fabrics and cuts remind
me of Chipp, where I was a customer for decades. I wish we had a shop like Andover in the Bay Area.
Please excuse the poorly formatted and un-edited post
