Global Ivy Trendwatch is alive and well, proving the broad and timeless appeal of traditional American menswear.
Today a reader posted on Ivy Style’s Facebook page about a new collection out of Thailand. It is a collaboration between two companies, Wardrobe Ministry and John Henry. The latter, if it’s the same trademark, sounds an awful like an American department-store brand of the same name some of you may remember.
The collection is called “Collegiate” and obviously “took Ivy” as its inspiration. Details include rear collar buttons, buckle-back chinos in olive drab, and madras contrast-fabric on shirts. — CC
The existing Wardrobe Ministry collection seems to also take a lot of its cues from Ivy. In fact, I like their shirts better since they come without the madras trim.
I like the photo of the model in the library who has amongst his book selection “Good to Great” and a book about Ghurkas (presumably the soldiers and not the hideous shorts).
The first thing that attracted my attention was how good the English was (unlike so many Japanese Trad sites).

How well I remember removable button-down collars.
Since i’m from Thailand, i have to admit that this collaboration is actually a disappointment, compared to the WM own collection.
The madras highlight reminds me of the weyhillandwharf shirts
