I have three old Brooks navy blazers that are becoming quite frayed in the lining. Likely won’t last that much longer. The Southwick blazer O’Connell’s has is the only one being sold anywhere that is identical. I want to order one but short of going out to Buffalo, I am concerned about getting the proper sleeve length. I wonder the best way to handle my concern. I could give them my shirt sleeve length. Does anyone have any ideas?
@Vern Is there another Southwick dealer near you? Also for what it’s worth BB’s current 3/2 sack blazer is also made by Southwick, can’t imagine the sizing would be completely different, so perhaps a try-on there?

Find a good tailor or, even, an excellent seamstress experienced in fitting. Order the blazer inj your size, take it to the tailor or seamstress and get fitted. I’ve done this many times, with excellent results. (My seamstress/tailor is passionate about these things.) Dry Cleaners can be a source for finding tailors or seamstresses.
No doubt others will recommend the same, or close to it. Good luck.

I remember reading that O’Connells was looking to do a OCBD based on the old Brooks details. Anyone know if this is still in the cards? I guess I could just e-mail them…
Thanks for the help from all. I’ll just talk to someone out there. I went to Brooks but even though they had three button they were not patch pockets with flap and welted edges. Also were of a strange material. No Southwick blazers in NYC that I can find. Also tried J. Squeeze before they closed and as I knew from many years past, they have never had patch pockets.
They are wearing also on the collars and cuffs. No telling how old they are. I tend to wear a blazer or sport coat anytime I am not wearing a suit because I need pockets to carry my gear. I shall just call O’Connell’s and they will assuage my fears. Thanks again.

The Buffalo News article is spot on: O’Connell’s has, in my opinion, the best website far and above any other.
By the way, I’d say the proper tribute should be: “A voice thriving in the wilderness.”

Even I know these are the good guys. They are worthy of our respect.
The writer of that newspaper article would have been more accurate if he had used “style”, rather than “fashion” in the title of his article.
I would encourage any serious Ivy clothes hounds to concentrate on O’C.’s, Mercer, or their own tailors and shirtmakers.
