Modest Capitol Hill Turnout For Seersucker Thursday

Turnout for yesterday’s Seersucker Thursday on Capitol Hill was a modest nine, down from previous years. It was also predominantly, though not exclusively, Republican.
It’s down because Congress went from distinguished members of society to those who failed in the private sector, used car salesman, and in the case of the “inner city” classless community leaders. Long gone are the days of George HW Bush’s in Congress, long gone are the days of Jack Kemp, Tip O’Niel, JFK and the rest of the Kennedy clan. Congress is now made of who can be the bigger bargain shopper and people who never knew how to dress in the first place. A stupid voter base gets you a stupid, unproductive Congress…
That would be Charles Curtis of Kansas, 31st VP of the USA. He obviously exudes “white privilege” Republicanism. OH!, wait a minute, he was a Kaw Indian. 🙂
@ MAC the party that hosted the first two black senators or do you mean the party that forced the Civil Rights act through the southern Dems and LBJ? Or maybe the party that ended segregation or ended slavery?
Maybe tune off of NPR every once in a while…

Christian Except those on the right seem to be winning elections in the rest of the world. I guess when you do not have to worry about being sympathetic over intelligent it is easier to win elections.

I was replying to Worried Man’s, “Apparently the really pasty guy far right didn’t get the memo but showed up for the photo shoot anyway.” I assume he was referring to the alabaster bust of Charles Curtis in the photo.

That is Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV). And she looks like a fit middle-aged woman.
I agree with Matt. Shelley Capito looks good. She is 60 or 61, I think. Not a fan of much of her politics, though.
Bottom row left gets my vote. Dark muted with a four in hand cannot be beaten, certainly never by a shiny with a windsor.

“Trigger warning: conservative website”? Is the similar trigger warning for NPR as a liberal website not needed, or is this just bias?
Trigger warnings are for those on the left. Those on the right are accustomed to the world not conforming to their ideal.
