The handful of 50-somethings who comprise the UK Ivy style tribe put on their best wide lapels and skinny ties (the unfortunate result of buying vintage clothing from different decades) and gathered last Thursday at trad shrine John Simons to celebrate the launch of the book “Hollywood and the Ivy League Look” by Graham Marsh.

You’ll love it. It’s a must for any fan of the Ivy Style. Apparently it’s only available at a few select stores here in the U.S.
I’m sure the photos are fantastic and I’m very curious to see if the authors have learned anything since their last attempt at this topic.

Let’s hope the photographers get the credit they deserve for creating all the content.

A simple apology at that time would have sufficed. But the tap-dancing denial was very poor form.
I may end up buying it for the photos, but if the promo material was any indication the text is going to be completely pretentious bullshit. Pure fantasy.

The guy on the left in photo number 6 of 52 is rocking an authentic Ivy League style spread collar unbuttoned to show his authentic Ivy League chest hair.

Still waiting for these loudmouth UK people to actually “write a book”. All I’ve seen so far is the ability to compile some nice photographs and advertisements created by other (American) people, slap their names on it, and call themselves authors.
Seems that Graham Nash has made a career out that sort of thing. Compile a bunch of photographs of album covers, or film posters (created by other people) add a few pretentious footnotes here and there…and voila!, the “author” “wrote” another book.
Oh wait, he did write that children’s book about a kitty-kat or something.
See, Americans don’t NEED to “write a book” on ourselves. Because well….we wrote the book on it.

Count me in re: WASP 101. Not being able to read the latest comments renders life just a meaningless husk. They do brighten the day so.
Is it a sad reflection on us that we’re more interested in the loss of Richard’s blog than the gain of this book?
