Craft To America, Style To Britain Ivy Exhibit at University Of Northampton

CRAFT TO AMERICA - STYLE TO BRITAIN - press release v2Yesterday an exhibit opened at the Northampton Unversity Gallery devoted to the Ivy League Look in the UK. Entitled “Craft To America, Style To Britain.” It was organized by Tim Walker and Tom Shaw (FNB Talk Ivy forum members) and is presented in partnership with the British Footwear Association.

The exhibit features the usual English Ivy suspects — Miles, McQueen, Gayley & Lord — but also includes more American collegiate material than other Ivy explorations from England, including shots from “Take Ivy” and “Seven Sisters Style.”

  1. Looks like an excellent exhibition. It’s only about an hour from me I’ll try and get there. If I do I’ll let you know what it’s like.

And while you’re there Rob, please have a word with them about their poster. Syntax is the word I have in mind.

What language is it in? It seems familiar but I can’t place it.

    The show looks good though.

The text on the poster seems to have been produced by someone who was not a native speaker of English, be it British or American.

  6. Is there an exhibition catalogue or book to go with this that one can order online?
